"I
have published several articles in genealogical and historical
magazines over the years, but this - my first book - has been
quite a different experience for me. I had no idea what to expect
from the company that took on this project of getting at least
some of my twenty year long research project into print. After
signing the contract with American Book Publishing Company, of
course, the first step was choosing which segment of the nearly
one million words I had typed into my computer would be selected
out for a book of a manageable size. With the able assistance of
three consecutive editors, I was able to extract and arrange the
one fragment of the material which I felt would appear to be of
interest to the widest readership. This aspect of the journey
first resulted in a manuscript of some 342,000 words. Still too
long, twenty more edits finally produced a satisfactory size which
would meet the restrictions for an affordable book.
Along
the way of my five year long journey with American Book
Publishing, I have been impressed by several staff members at
American Book Publishing. I will say that among those who stand
out as most helpful and most professional in our scores and scores
of email exchanges were Lindsey, Callie, Stella, Jennifer, Leslie,
and Jana." -Albert Edward Belanger, Author of On
