"As
a writer currently working with American Book Publishing for the
second time, I can talk about the company's excellent services
from experience. For one thing, I am concerned about editing. An
author's reading eye grows strangely opaque, and
I yearn for other eyes to read the text to see if it comes through
as I intended all the months I was writing the novel. At ABP, my
manuscript went through a thorough editing process twice, with two
editors, exactly the kind of close reading and helpful suggestions
I wanted for my novel. The cover design experience? I looked
forward to it with great anticipation-- was delightful. At ABP,
the
writer collaborates with the design department until all the
elements of cover design come together and the author says,
"That's exactly right." Again, the keyword is
"thorough." Thus the production of the final book is the
result of careful, well-planned steps. ABP prides itself on the
excellence of each book it publishes. But once the book is
produced, it must be marketed. I am at the beginning of the
promotion process and have met electronically the ABP
representative with whom I will be collaborating. I am delighted
to say that we are already working smoothly together, and it is
reassuring to know that he will be there to answer questions for
me about this last and most challenging task: to bring my book to
readers." —Marilyn Fisher, Author of He Trots the Air
